Utilizing residential options, the mission of Opportunity Homes, Inc. is to assist individuals with disabilities in skill development and choice making, which will allow them to access supports and services necessary to reach their potential.

Opportunity Homes, Inc. is a private non-profit human service agency.  This agency provides residential options to individuals experiencing a variety of cognitive and physical disabilities.  The focus of service delivery is based on development and enhancement of life skills to promote participation and inclusion in the community.  All services are specifically tailored to the individual's needs and desires as well as provided in the individual's home settings, scattered throughout the communities of Northeast Iowa.  The Winneshiek County Arc (formerly titled the Association for Retarded Citizens) was instrumental in starting the agency in 1979.  It was the dedication and desire of many volunteers that made the vision of community based residential services a reality within the community.
